I have never heard of anyone doing that before, but you can try soak it in sufuric acid to melt away the top layer. (though it will be tricky) or plate it with another layer of gold.

Be careful when pairing yellow with other colours. It looks dicey alongside reds and purples and when next to black, it runs the risk of looking like a building site. Transparent Frog:

Native to Venezuela, the Glass Frogs belong to the amphibian family Centrolenidae (order Anura). While the general background coloration of most glass frogs is primarily lime green, the abdominal skin of some members of this family is transparent, so that the heart, liver, and digestive tract are visible through their translucent skin.

Transparent Head Fish:

This bizarre deep-water fish called the Barreleye (Macropinna microstoma) has a transparent head and tubular eyes. It has extremely light-sensitive eyes that can rotate within his transparent, fluid-filled shield on its head, while the fish's tubular eyes, well inside the head, are capped by bright green lenses. The eyes point upward (as shown here) when the fish is looking for food overhead. They point forward when the fish is feeding. The two spots above the fish's mouth are not eyes: those are olfactory organs called nares, which are analogous to human nostrils.

Transparent Butterfly:

Found in Central America, from Mexico to Panama, the Glasswing Butterfly (Greta Oto) is a brush-footed butterfly where its wings are transparent. The tissue between the veins of its wings looks like glass.

Transparent Squid:

Found on the southern hemisphere's oceans, the Glass Squid (Teuthowenia pellucida) has light organs on its eyes and possesses the ability to roll into a ball, like an aquatic hedgehog. It is prey of many deep-sea fish (eg goblin sharks) as well as whales and oceanic seabirds.

This see-through zebrafish was created in 2008 by scientists so they can study disease processes, including the spread of cancer. The transparent fish are allowing researchers at Children's Hospital Boston to directly view fish's internal organs and observe processes such as tumor growth in real-time in living organisms.

Fund in the cold waters around Antarctica and southern South America, the crocodile icefish (Channichthyidae) feed on krill, copepods, and other fish. Their blood is transparent because they have no hemoglobin and/or only defunct erythrocytes. Their metabolism relies only on the oxygen dissolved in the liquid blood, which is believed to be absorbed directly through the skin from the water. Called Phronima, this unusual animal is one of the many strange species recently found on an expedition to a deep-sea mountain range in the North Atlantic. In an ironic strategy for survival, this tiny shrimplike creature shows everything it has, inside and out, in an attempt to disappear. Many other small deep-sea creatures are transparent as well, or nearly so, to better camouflage themselves in their murky surroundings, scientists say. (

Murano glass is not merely a commodity like diamonds, silver, or gold. Most know that Senate democrats have issued a statement claiming that the August deadline on Health Care reform imposed by Barack Obama will not be met, but not many know that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel says that they will vote on the legislation, possibly as early as next week.

Emanuel isn't alone, all across the country political pressure is being utilized to gain public support, support of key democrats, and business leaders, and our region hasn't been left out. In a discussion this past Friday, Senator Bob Casey Jr., told a health care roundtable at the Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center that to slow-down and not vote on a health care reform plan would be a mistake.

To "stop is a very bad choice for our country, especially for our economy," the Senator said during health care roundtable. Senator Casey hosted the roundtable via teleconference. He told the group; "I don't have a lot of patience for those who say we need another six months."

More than a dozen high-level health care representatives and advocates attended the small symposium some of which expressed support for an complete overhaul of our country's health care system. The President is intent on implementing a universal coverage system in the United States to cut costs which have increased exponentially, and also to cover a purported 50 million uninsured nationally.

Republican National Committee Chairman, Michael Steele said that; "The Democrats want a government-run health care system that will control your health care, your treatments, your medicines, even what doctors you see. This grand experiment on America is a risk our country cannot afford to take." And yesterday, the senior republican on the committee dealing with health care reform said that it would be difficult for the committee to approve a plan within the next two weeks.

Highmark-Blue Cross/Blue Shield expressed concerns about a government-run insurance program that competes with private insurers. They showed concern that as employers shift health care burden onto the government program, insurers will struggle to remain in business.

When the Canadian system was implemented, this is the way it was done, with a private option and a public option, but as time went on, insurers became less and less able to compete with the a government program in which profit and loss is not a concern, and they over time, incrementally exited the market, leaving only the public option.

A Magee Women's Hospital spokesman gave support for health care reform at Senator Casey's roundtable discussion, but raised concerns about new reimbursement structures that will cut payments to hospitals. He showed concern over a $50 billion reduction in federal payments that compensate hospitals that treat large numbers of uninsured patients. As Magee receives roughly $10 million annually in payments, they have good reason for concern and as such expressed that the hospital's educational programs and outreach centers would suffer extensively.

As the battle heats up further the RNC is initiating a grass-roots movement to deter passage of legislation, while democratic heavyweights push hard for legislation mandating a total overhaul of our healthcare system.

Caught in the middle of this political battle are business and the American citizen, who, as evidenced by recent polls, know that whatever version of legislation is passed, a burden will be levied upon not just the rich, but the middle-class, corporations, small business and the economy as well.

Biography Celia Birtwell
Celia Birtwell is a textile designer. Born in Salford, Lancashire, in 1941, she studied Textile Design in Manchester, where in 1959 she met the fashion designer Ossie Clark, whom she married in 1969.

Theirs was an almost perfect marriage of style, and their work together defined the era. The collaboration began with a 1966 collection for the Quorum boutique in London, which they shared with the designer Alice Pollock. It was the Clarks who began the modern catwalk show: the previous procession of modelled clothes was put to music, the London glitterati was invited, and the shows became events. Birtwell worked at home designing textiles for Clark, who would use his skill in cutting and understanding of form, together with her knowledge of fabrics and textures to produce haute couture for the emerging '60s culture. This included work for the Rolling Stones and Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd, as well as Pattie Boyd, Marianne Faithfull, Bianca Jagger, Verushka, Paloma Picasso, Talitha Getty and numerous other international celebrities. She has been a muse for the painter David Hockney since 1968, and features in his 1970 painting Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy, one of Hockney's most celebrated and one of the most viewed paintings in the Tate Britain gallery on Millbank. In 2005 it featured on the Today programme's shortlist of the 'Greatest Painting in Britain'.

They had two children together, Albert (born 1969) and George (born 1971), but their private relationship could not match their professional, and they divorced in 1974 due to Clark's hedonistic lifestyle and his homosexual relationships. After the break-up of her marriage Birtwell continued in fashion, designing for the Radley label for a time, until in 1984 she set up a shop on Westbourne Park Road in Bayswater selling fabrics for the home. Again she built up a reputation for innovative and witty design. Her first success came with her own take on a 16th century animal print she called 'Animal Solo', followed later by the first, and much copied, white on white voile and muslin fabrics. These fabrics are now to be seen in many homes, hotels and public spaces, including Claridge's and The Lanesbourough Hotels in London; The Grand Hotel, Leeds; The Dubai Hilton, and many more.
In 2005 it was announced that she would design clothing for the high street chain Topshop, beginning with Spring/Summer 2006. Her first collection was a huge success, selling out within minutes of the shops opening. In April 2008, Celia designed a limited collection for American fashion retailer Express. In 2008, Millets launched a camping and outdoor footwear and clothing range designed by Celia Birtwell - new lines have also been added to the range for Summer 2009.

Most of my readers have received great benefit from eating whole meal bread instead of white, and they may all gain further good it they will use Allinson whole meal flour in place of white for all cooking purposes. Those who are at all constipated, or who suffer from piles, varicose veins, varicocele, back pain, &c., should never use white flour in cooking. Those who are inclined to stoutness should use whole meal flour rather than white. Hygienists and health-reformers should not permit white flour to enter their houses, unless it is to make bill-stickers' paste or some like stuff. Toothless children must not be given any food but milk and water until they cut at least two teeth.

Every kind of cookery can be done with whole meal flour. In making ordinary white sauce or vegetable sauce, this is how we make it; Chop fine some onion or parsley; boil in a small quantity of water, stir in whole meal flour and milk, add a little pepper and salt, thin with hot water, and thus produce a sauce that helps down vegetables and potatoes. In making a brown sauce we put a little butter or olive oil in the frying-pan; let it bubble and sputter, dredge in Allinson whole meal flour, stir it round with a knife until browned, add boiling water, pepper, salt, a little ketchup, and you then have a nice brown sauce for many dishes. If we wish to make it very tasty we fry a finely chopped onion first and add that to it. White sweet sauce is made from whole meal flour, milk, sugar, and a little cinnamon, cloves, lemon juice, vanilla, or other flavouring. Yorkshire puddings, Norfolk dumplings, batter puddings, and such puddings can all be made with whole meal flour, and are more nourishing and healthy, and do not lie so heavy as those made from white flour. Pancakes can be made from whole meal flour just as well as from white.

All kinds of pastry, pie-crusts, under crusts, &c., are best made from Allinson whole meal, and if much butter, lard, or dripping is used they will lie just as heavy, and cause heartburn just as much as those made with white flour. There is a substitute for pie-crusts that is very tasty, and not at all harmful. We call it "batter," and it can be used for savoury dishes as well as sweet ones.
