Before selling house, especially your house, there are certain things that you need to keep in mind so that buyers are duly impressed and they want to purchase the house as quickly as you might want to sell it.

Look around your house. Is there something that might make the buyers think that you might not be ready to sell the house? Is the fine china vase, that your grandmother gifted you, still there? So, you're still in the market for a good candle and you are not quite sure what to look for. Well, one of the most important things to look for when trying out a candle for the first time is to see how it burns. I'm sure that everyone has had the unfortunate candle burning experience where the candle burned right down to the bottom but there was still a lot of wax left over, clinging to the side of the jar. In "candle talk" this is known as tunneling and the main reason this happens is due to poor craftsmanship.

When a good candle company makes a candle, a lot of time, research, and money goes into making the final product. There is a lot of trial and error, and many companies will keep testing and testing, making sure that the correct combination of materials are used to ensure that all of the wax will be burnt. When you light a good candle, you will notice that the wax actually pools all the way to the side of the jar. It will then continue burning down evenly and uniformly. Unfortunately, since there are a million different candle companies out there, this is not always the case.

Some candle companies (especially the ones overseas) will use the cheapest materials possible and will do little to no testing at all. This will inevitably lead to a poorly made candle that will have leftover wax that you can't use. So even though the manufacturer will make the claim that you have a candle that will burn for 50-60 hours, you will probably only get 30-40 hours out of it. That means that 20% of your money is left sticking to the side of the jar.

It's a bummer, but you live and learn, and at least then you will know not ever to buy from that company again. Once again, I would suggest sticking with a company that manufactures their products in the USA to prevent this from happening to you. Also, scented soy candles tend to burn longer and better than your traditional paraffin or gel candles so those are the ones that I would suggest.
