When this is not possible, describe some great gadget that someone had just received and see how they respond. Men usually like gadgets, but there are women who also like new and innovative ideas too.

Paintings and etched scenes are really rather very personal since one person will like one style and another person will like something completely different. Unless this liking has been mooted before, then stay away from something that they just may well hate should anyone give it to them. After all, who would want to be responsible for that piece of art that is in the back of the cupboard for most of the year, and then dragged out when the giver comes to visit?

For ladies, jewelry is usually a good idea but find out which particular style they like if possible. Although some may like chains in gold or silver, some may well prefer a great pair of earrings. It will also be necessary to know if they have pierced ears or not and this is most important since some will just not like clip on styles.

If the lady is rather neat and compact, large dangling earrings is probably not her style. Other ladies may well prefer a delicate bracelet with a medallion or charm hanging from it. Again this could be something unique to her life or style and again could be in gold or silver.

For men, wallets and key-rings are favorites particularly if their favorite sport is somehow depicted there. Golf related paraphernalia is usually a favorite amongst executives both young and old and there are many gift ideas that incorporate these symbols.

If the man has a favorite football team, then look for gifts which show the logo of that team. Even cuff links some with enameled badges depicting the team of choice so there are plenty of items to b chosen from.

For children, jewelry is possible, but better to get them something like a jewelry box, perhaps personalized with their name, to get them started on their collection. Boys would not go for this probably so just keep this idea for girls. For boys, games or footballs are always a good idea and they can never have enough.

Gifts of clothing are a little personal and this is usually restricted to close family members where the size of the person is known. Many an aunt has brought home souvenir T shirts to find that they are several sizes too small for the recipient so take care if this is going to be the gift.

For parents, young or old, buying something to adorn the house may well be a good idea. For the older generation in particular, clocks for the desk or wall can be personalized by the giver and looks great if matched in with the current décor. Even sets of fine crystal glasses are usually welcome, particularly if the family likes the odd glass of wine or two or enjoy giving dinner parties. Some people give a different set each year to build up the collection; for example, red wine glasses and then white wine followed by champagne flutes etc. This is obviously great for avid collectors of good glass etc.

Gift baskets also make for a delightful gift for practically anyone including new born babies. Baby baskets hold all that the new baby will need for those first few months of life, while toddler baskets can have a great toy or trolley for them to play with as they get older.

Adult style baskets can contain anything from fine wines and cheeses to spa day baskets with all the accoutrements for the adults to pamper themselves with. These come complete with massage oils, monogrammed bathrobes and slippers, and perhaps a bottle of champagne to make the pampering complete.

Of course, for those recipients who seem to have everything, finding the right gift may well be impossible. If this is the case, many will resort to giving a gift token to let them choose for themselves exactly what they would like. This is not really a cop out since a lot of people would much prefer to find their own gift. The first thing that you need to do is clear off all the junk - (dog knick knacks etc) anything distracting and not useful for your desk. Put it somewhere else! The only thing that should be on your desk is your monitor. The keyboard should be in a keyboard shelf, and the printer should be on a shelf under the desk, leaving the desk space clean.

Put paper and important objects in the shallow drawer ( your memory stick, blank DVDs, ruler, calculator etc. Then, get baskets to fit your shelves and fill them with other things you may have lying around (like notebooks, and large art supplies)

Ho Hoan Kiem

(or Lake of the Restored Sword) was once part of the Red river (song Hong). Throughout thousands of years of geographical changes, the lake moved eastward to its present position kilometers from the river. Before the famous historical legend of King Le Loi here, Hoan Kiem Lake used to be called Luc Thuy Lake (or Green Water Lake) since the water was green all the year round. In 15th century, it was named Hoan Kiem Lake after the legend of Emperor Le Thai To, which is somehow similar to the story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake's.

Now please close your eyes and turn back time to the Le Dynasty 6 centuries ago to witness the legendary story. During the war against the Minh aggressors, King Le Thai To was given a precious fairy Sword by the Golden Turtle God. After 10 years of continuous struggling, the King finally defeated the Chinese and reclaimed the nation's independence. After that, on a nice day, while boating on lake Luc Thuy, a large turtle came towards him.

It immediately grabbed the sword with its mouth and submerged. The king mourned the lost of such a valuable sword, yet could not find either the turtle or the sword. He realized that the God must have lent him the sword to drive back the enemy, but then that his nation was free, the sword must be returned. Hence, King Le Thai To named the lake Ho Hoan Kiem or Lake of the Restore Sword after this episode.

Since the reign of King Le Trung Hung (XVI century), every King in the Le dynasty, and Lord Trinh have all contributed to the beauty of the lake. Lord Trinh Giang built Khanh Thuy shrine on Ngoc island on the north end of the lake. He also had the two man made hills built across from Ngoc son Shrine. At the end of the Le Dynasty, Khanh Thuy was toppled by Chieu Thong. A philanthropist named Tin Trai built Ngoc Son pagoda, which was renamed into Ngoc Son shrine during the reign of Thieu Tri III (1843) as it was no longer a Buddhist shrine. Instead, it became a shrine of Van Xuong, a deity, in charge of literature and the various tests required to become a Mandarin. It has also been a shrine of General Tran Hung Dao, a national Hero who secured numerous victories against the Mongols.

Hence, Hoan Kiem Lake is now situated inside a complex of Ngoc Son Temple, The Huc Bridge, Pen Tower in the surroundings, making a sparkling colorful natural picture! Ngoc Son has undergone a lot of renovations, one among which was the addition of Thap But (translated as Pen Tower) on its hill, which was once called Dao Tai. Three words were inscribed on the tower: "Ta Thien Thanh" or "write on blue sky". Inside the gate a pool resembling the shape of an ink well was added. Beyond the ink well is The Huc bridge, which means "where the sun light is absorbed". The bridge leads to Dac Nguyet Lau (or "Moon Light tower") - Ngoc Son shrine. Beyond the gates to the shrine, there are two walls called bang Rong and bang Ho (dragon and tiger slate), where the names of those who passed the national test were inscribed.

What could not be missed in this beautiful complex is the Turtle Tower, which lies in the middle of the Lake, so as to remind Vietnamese people of the Turtle God of his great assistance. It was told that King Le Thanh Tong used to fish here. Lord Trinh also built the structure to house his entourage while visiting the lake.

Despite the time's ashes and dust, Hoan Kiem Lake - the popular historical and legendary beauty-spot is eternal for good as an evidence of a fairy & heroic Hanoi during the past wars, and a romantic & charming Hanoi of Today!

You are off to a great start! You have lots done already.

A few ideas/suggestions:

~ Don't forget to figure in the cost of an officiant and the marriage license.

~ You do NOT have to have a unity candle if you don't want to. But if you do, go to Walmart or Target for these things.

~ Ditto for the guest book. To be honest, I have never figured out the purpose of a guestbook. Do you really look at the signatures after? People sign their names, and that's it. It is put away. With a guest list of 50, it is really unnecessary. But, again, if you want one....they have these at Walmart and I have even seen them at Dollar Tree.

~ Invitations: Go to Michaels, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Office Max, etc. and buy one of the boxed sets of invitations. You bring these home and print them yourself on the computer! Very easy and inexpensive. If there is a Michaels Craft Store near you, go there. And....ask at the register for one of their 40% off coupons. The boxed sets of invitations run about $30, but with the 40% off it brings it down to $18.

~ Unless your really need a "head count," I would totally skip the RSVP (you will save on stamps.) Just figure that everyone invited WILL be there!

~ Flowers AND Cake: I always encourage brides to check out large grocery stores that have a floral department and a bakery. These places have experienced floral designers AND bakers. And....they will be substantially cheaper than going to a regular florist or a bakery. Check it out! (Oh, I just remembered that you already have the flowers picked out.) Well, anyway, check out a grocery store bakery for the cake!

~ Music: Perhaps play some soft music in the background with an ipod.

~ FOOD!! Important! What do you plan to serve? A meal to serve 50 people is not really that hard. I would pick a meat, starch, veggie, salad(s), rolls.

~ Try to recruit someone to be the photographer! If you live near a college or university, you may be able to get a photography student to come and do some pictures. Just an idea.....

~ Gifts for attendants?
~ Rehearsal dinner?

I don't like to use sprays, they stink and have little residual effect. I have had great success with the Raid Ant Traps. The little buggers love it and return the honey-like substance back to the nest which kills the queen and her minions.

Because the newborn baby's biological clock hasn't established yet, they may wake you frequently during the night. And baby's crying and screaming can make new parents very exhausted. Most of the new parents are struggling with the night nursing issue. In fact, if new parents can prepare baby's night necessaries in advance and have knowledge of how to respond to baby's sudden events, night nursing could be easier.

If you are struggling with the night nursing issue, here has some tips and advices from experienced parents may help.

Some experienced parents give me the inspiration to write down these useful night nursing tips.

Knowing the possible events may occur during the night nursing:

1, Baby is hunger or thirst

2, Baby suppress urine or has damp diaper or bed

3, Baby feels too hot or too cold

4, Baby is bitten by the mosquito or other insects

5, Bad sleeping position causes difficult breathing

6, Sudden sickness

Controlling the temperature to create good sleep environment

1. Window: Open the window to get some fresh air, and then close it before sleep.

2. Crib: Don't set crib under the window or the air conditioner.

3. Clothes and bedding: Don't let your baby go to sleep naked even in the hot summer, protect the baby's belly with some light baby blanket. Depending on the temperature, put on light-weight cotton sleeper or heavy fleece sleeper.

4. Air conditioner: The wind direction should not toward baby's bed and as far as possible. Adjust the air conditioner to the natural wind mode or breeze status during the sleep.

Preparing baby night necessaries in advance

1, Feeding supplies: Breast milk feeding is more convenient. Lying down is ideal for night feedings; when baby is small, you may need to lay her on a pillow so the baby can reach your nipple. Or you may store expressed milk in the refrigerator. This will free you from feeling tired down by breast-feeding, and allow your baby to be fed by your partner if you feel really tired.

If your baby drinks formulas, you need prepare 1-2 ready-to-feed bottles, milk power, and hot & cold water. Don't put these supplies too far away from you. After feeding the baby, give them some warm water to drink to keep their mouth clean.

2, Diapers and beddings: Changing diapers during the night will keep baby dry and comfortable. Make sure your baby don't sleep on the damp bedding, if bedding gets wet, you must change it. So always keep some clean diapers and bedding set aside.

3, Clothes: Vomiting milk will make baby clothes dirty and wet, so always prepare two sets of clean baby clothes ready for current season.

4, Comfort supplies: Soft toys, rattles, latex nipples, or music can calm down the baby, and provide comfort for the baby. You may prepare some comfort supplies for the night. If baby's crying, these comfort supplies can be very useful.

5, Paper towel: You will need paper towels during the night before and after feeding or changing, so be prepared.

6, Common drugs and thermometer: You need prepare drugs for insect bitten. If you baby keep crying all the time, and have red flash on the cheek, take the temperature. Sometimes you need rash to the hospital, so always prepare some hospital necessary supplies in advance for both the baby and yourself. Put them aside.
